Product Research ‘Musts’ We Overlook – And Never Learn!

Market Research For New Product

New ideas for products and services are conceived every day — yet many of them fail because they weren’t properly introduced to the market. Amazon product research helps ensure both that the product launch will hit the ‘right buttons’ in the consumer, and ensures that the product idea itself addresses the (often unspoken) desires of the customer.

In general, we can speak of seven different steps in the pre-launch research process: understanding the market and the competition, targeting the customer, devising a unique value proposition, determining marketing strategy, testing the product and overall approach, rolling out the campaign, and keeping track of the overall lifecycle.

Let’s consider these steps of product research before launching a new product in more detail.

Price

Price is a fundamental decision-making factor that affects consumer buying behavior. It is a great mitigator and propagator of ‘reason’ for all of us. Price psychology, strategy, and research are absolutely crucial while assessing, creating, launching or re-launching a product. Any product.

The price of the product must commensurate with the value or ‘promise’ of the product. This is not an ’empty’ promise; it is a realistic promise with a truthful claim, based on the company’s agency’s industry-relevant experience, technical skill, proven value, and consistent credibility.

It is imperative that every entrepreneur or company researches this important and most fundamental element when it comes to their products or services. Studying market trends, industry patterns, competitors and even newcomers – is absolutely crucial in gathering vital, proactive and effective pricing data.

High Demand – Low Competition

Firstly, you can identify a product niche or a gap in the market that isn’t already covered. Alternatively, you can identify the products that are already in high demand and capitalize on these markets.
The problem is, while the process of identifying a gap in the market can be a solid business move, it can also be a risky one. For this reason, we have focused on the latter approach of finding products that are already selling well, if you said a Seller looking to sell on Amazon or Shopify, for example.
One more factor to consider is the seasonal demand for a product. Now this will depend on whether you want to find a product that will sell consistently well all year round or something that is more seasonal. It’s also worth thinking about the shelf life of the item.
Thus, the key is striking the right balance during your research phase for the product you want to launch or sell. Focus on something that has high demand but low competition, so that your barriers to entry are minimal.

Feedback Score

If you’re a Seller on say eBay, for example, The Feedback score is the number in parentheses next to a member’s username and is also located at the top of the Feedback Profile. Next, to the Feedback score, you may also see a star. The number of positive, negative, and neutral Feedback ratings a member has received overtime is part of the Feedback score.
Do not, we repeat, DO NOT overlook this important parameter. Your feedback score is the ‘face’ of your credibility and reputation in the eyes of the target audience. Taking it lightly can single-handedly jeopardize the viability and worth of your product, no matter how great you think your product is.

Relying on a Single Software

Diversity and Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to researching for your product in a robust, proactive and diligent manner. If you’re relying on just one software for product research, you are shooting yourself in the foot with blind eyes!
Use multiple software to increase efficiency and probability of hitting the jackpot when it comes to meticulous and laser-focused research. Softwares like Jungle Scout, Unicorn Smasher, Sellics, Amz Hook, etc. are all great Amazon product research software available online that you can use in a timely fashion.

Competitor Analysis

The beginning of an Amazon product research and launch also means understanding your competitors, and what products and services they have on offer.
Though you might believe there’s currently no competition for your new product, put yourself in the shoes of your customers and consider what they could buy instead of what you’re planning to offer.
Review those competitors’ marketing materials, and evaluate how your new offering will stand up against what’s available. Where will you excel? Which companies or products are the greatest threat to a successful launch?

Important Hacks and Tricks to Optimize Your Amazon Products Listing – The Right Way!

Amazon is the world’s all-you-can-eat buffet of products and any seller or marketer’s throne for kingdom-hood. With millions of transactions every day, an Amazon product listing is ‘your voice’ to the world. Many are now starting Amazon business on a daily basis. There is a list of things one needs to do planning to jump in Amazon wonderland.

The Solution

A powerful Amazon product listing copy that converts is crucial to being an A-List Seller. And to put a halt to your sales sucking-spree!

Here are some ‘Secret Sauce’ Hacks, Tips, and Tricks on how you can 10X your Amazon Product Listing today!

Focus on Your Product Title

Character Count

Just as with Google title tags are very important, but instead of 60 characters, you get 200 with Amazon. Also unlike Google, the longer and more detailed the title, the better. With Amazon it doesn’t have to be compelling or grab a viewer’s attention; it just has to give off enough information for someone to make a purchasing decision.

For this reason, using all of the 200-character limits is encouraged. If you look around Amazon, you’ll notice that the products with long, keyword-rich titles outrank those that are simple and clean.

Capitalization and Relevance

Capitalize the first letter of each word. Use the most relevant keywords first, and ensure that numbers are written as numerals ( such as 1, 2, 3, etc.)

Now, it can be hard to get used to this after coming from optimization for Google, but it’s an important step. According to an Amazon help page, you should follow a formula to help create your titles. For example, the style for many products may be:

Brand + Model Number + Model Name + Product Type, Color

One example of using this formula for a title would be:

KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red

Things Not to Include in Product Titles

One of the biggest mistakes Sellers make is committing self-suicide by contaminating their product titles with the following:

● Price and quantity
● Using ALL CAPS
● Using promotional messages such as “Sale”
● Using suggestive commentary such as “Best Seller”
● Using symbols such as ($,!,?)
● Putting color in the title even though the product does not come in multiple colors
● Putting size in the title if the size is not a relevant detail

Compelling Photos – Crucial Elements

Human beings are visual creatures. Image psychology plays a fundamental role in buying behaviors. Knowing and maximizing this is critical. Here’s how:

● Utilize all 9 image spaces if possible
● Size images to be at least 1000px to activate zoom function
● Add a video if at all possible
● Utilize a white background for the main image
● Use infographics to convey the scale of the product
● Include some lifestyle images, showing the product in use
● Have an image showing your product packaging

Use Bullet-Point Content Form and Focus on a Description

You often see bullet points for a product on Amazon under the title. This is a great place to add keywords and really show what you’re all about. It’s close to your images and actually appears above the title, so make sure you don’t skip this step.

Here are some more tips on this:

● Use all 5 bullet points if you are able
● Put yourself in the shoes of the customer, why should they buy your product over competitors?
● Focus on applications of the product
● Keep it product oriented
● Include any guarantee or warranty you are offering
● Does the product solve a problem? Explain how
● What’s your product’s fundamental value proposition?

Because the bullet point feature is so prominent, sometimes companies get confused about the description and forget to add it altogether (it’s not required after all!). The description still appears it just appears further down on your page.

This doesn’t mean that it’s not as important, it’s just not as important as the bullet point section. It is crucial to still add in a description, not worry too much about keywords, and make it detailed but short and sweet all at the same time.

Humanism in Description

It’s also important that your description adopts a ‘humanistic’ tone, in that it speaks to the human element of the audience, and not as a ‘drone’ programmed to sell on auto-pilot!

Here are a few ways this can be achieved in a compelling manner that evokes emotion, incites interest, creates desire and inspires ‘action’ in the reader’s mind:

● Lead with the features and benefits to the customer, and talk about the product secondary to that
● Make the visitor believe that your product is something they need
● Keep it relatable – use language that you would use if you were speaking to someone
● Include your target keywords but don’t keyword stuff and make it difficult to read
● Tell a story that highlights the product’s value
● Choose the best text formatting for your description

How to Find the Right Influencer to Launch Amazon Product

Influencer marketing (also influence marketing) is a form of marketing in which focus is placed on influential people rather than the target market as a whole. It identifies the individuals that have influence over potential buyers and orients marketing activities around these influencers.

It is important to understand that brands are evolving in terms of marketing. While putting an ad on television has a high cost, working with an influencer has a negligible cost in the professional working relationship to the possible benefits it can receive.

Example: if an influencer has 200,000 followers on Instagram and a company gives them a product on the condition that he exposes it to his audience, this company would be making an investment of the cost of a product in exchange for reaching at least the large most followers of the public figure.

Amazon product launch is the most important phase for any company’s or brand’s lifecycle. It is a big milestone and a huge opportunity to make it or break it! Traditional ways of launching a product no longer are viable nor effective in generating buzz, creating a brand following and generating profits in the modern internet age.

Some of these disadvantages are:

  1. Higher Costs: Launching a product the traditional way – without influencer marketing on any level – is highly costly. Ads on digital media, television, radio or magazines cost far more than being able to leverage the power of an influencer that aligns perfectly with your niche or audience type.
  2. Lesser Reach: Traditional product launch approaches have a far lesser global reach ( and at less fuel ) when it comes to generating an all-encompassing online audience grasp. Influencers enable dynamic overall target demographic reach faster, better and broader
  3. Targeted Marketing: With influencer marketing, the right influencers can put your product infront of the right demographic that your product relies upon. It is laser-focused and far more tailored to hitting the pain-points of the audience in a compelling manner.

Why use an influencer?

Influencer marketing derives its great value from 3 sources:

  1. Social reach: Influencers are able to reach millions of consumers through their social channels and blogs.
  2. Original content: Influencers produce original, and oftentimes effective, marketing content for the brand.
  3. Consumer trust: Influencers maintain strong relationships with their audience, who have a certain level of trust in the influencer’s opinions.

Identifying the right influencer:

The first step in influencer marketing is to identify influencers. Influencers are specific to discrete market segments and are used as enablers to the entire target segment. They have great use in marketing programs targeted at specific segments.

You can use social media tools to find influencers based on keywords or those that belong to specific industry verticals. A great tool is BuzzSumo, it enables you to look at influencers trending and most effective per certain keywords and industry niches.

How Influencers Work:

In order to achieve the purpose of the business clients, influencers should deliver a change in attitude towards the client’s brand or product. The change of the attitude from the viewer takes place from the contents that influencer produces.

R.A.C.E

The change itself is believed as a psychological process in the human mind. The psychological process can be explained under the RACE model. RACE stands for: Reach, Act Convert and Engage. These four steps are designed to help brands engage with their customers throughout the customer lifecycle.

Schedule a free consultation call to get a feel of things.

Conclusively, if you’re a business, it is crucial that the Amazon product launch you’re involved for yourself or your clients – effectively use the power of influencer marketing.

How to Maintain Professional Working Relationship with Your E-commerce Consultant

Maintaining a reliable, proactive, and highly productive professional working relationship with your E-commerce Consultant is not only logically necessary; but also crucial both in the short and long run of your business’s lifecycle.

Since an E-commerce Consultant by their very nature is operating in the online space, it is critical to lay down processes and avenues that foster an uninterrupted means of communication, mutual empathy, understanding, professional insight, and goal-focused collective foresight.

Here are a few ways you can not only cement but also sustain, maintain, and regulate a rewarding and captivating professional relationship with your E-commerce Consultant – even from half the world away – every day!

Communication

Communication is the very bloodline of any professional working relationship – be it personal, social, or professional – with anyone, let alone your E-commerce Consultant! One must eliminate communication barriers; so that an active line of fluid, timely, and effective communication is established continually with your consultant.

Devising a systematic outline of workflows, systems, processes, and tasks, as well as daily or weekly follow-ups and regular meetings, is necessary to ensure communication levels are always optimal.

Eliminating barriers to communication and utilizing all the right tools and resources to increasing, bolstering, and maintaining reliable communicative channels enables you to avoid time delays, project mishaps, and meet deadlines.

Realistic Goals

Realistic setting goals is not only essential and time-worthy but also conducive to the overall growth of a business. Goals that are not realistic is the same as shooting darts at a target in the dark!

A highly effective goal-setting process of setting business goals more powerful is the SMART technique. SMART stands for:

S – Specific (or Significant goals).

M – Measurable (or Meaningful goals).

A – Attainable (or Action-Oriented goals).

R – Relevant (or Rewarding goals).

T – Time-bound (or Trackable goals).

Knowledge About Culture

Your geographic location, as well as that of your business, maybe different than that of your E-commerce Consultant.

For example, if you’re locating in New York and your business is based in Downtown Manhattan; your organizational and social culture will be vastly different than that of an E-commerce Consultant based in Hanoi, Vietnam!

Hence, immersing yourself, understanding, and applying the right cultural knowledge in all your interactions with your E-commerce Consultant is vital in building a strong, long-lasting, and rewarding professional working relationship. This shows empathy, respect, and compassion, and you win instant respect in the eyes of the E-commerce Consultant; who, in turn, strives harder to exceed your expectations by putting in that ‘extra’ effort as a natural human response to job-satisfaction.

Knowing culture includes being sensitive to people’s cultural, religious, ethnic, social, and nationalistic rituals, observations, and holidays. Giving your E-commerce Consultant leverage, room, and convenience of celebrating his or her cultural observations in a calendar year speak volumes of your professionalism and empathy as an employer.

Flexibility

Being flexible in terms of work parameters is a great way to smoothen things; build a vibrantly active relationship with your Virtual Assistant.

Remember, your E-commerce Consultant is ‘virtual,’ yes, but that doesn’t mean he or she isn’t human. You are dealing with a real human being, with feelings, sentiments, limitations, personal life, and its many dynamics, etc.

Being flexible in terms of vacation time and other elements of freedom is crucial in making the work environment ‘breathable.’ Many online E-commerce consulting agencies or online businesses lose great  E-commerce Consultants because they end up treating them like a mere ‘cog’ in a big machine, devoid of empathy and flexibility.

Every human being has a ‘breaking point’ in terms of how much they can handle; therefore being flexible in the work environment is of utmost importance!

Training and Development

Your E-commerce Consultant is a valuable asset for both short and long term of things. It is necessary to treat him or her; keeping in mind that investing in their training and development is a tangible and detrimental aspect to your business’s overall progress.

Ensuring that your E-commerce Consultant is continually guided, coached, trained, and developed through various tools, resources, courses, and supplementary education is a great way to build trust, rapport, and genuine compassion. When a consultant knows that you care and value their success through personal development; they will be more receptive to taking your business as if it were their own!

Conclusively, building a long-lasting and strong professional working relationship with your E-commerce Consultant is utmost necessary; if you want to empower your business with consistency, quality, and continual results. Relationship building is an art, and it takes time; however, with the tips mentioned above you can be on your way to cementing great relationships with all  E-commerce Consultants you choose to hire for yourself or your clients. Successfully!

Become an E-commerce Consultant. Scam or Legit Long-Term Career?

In the fast-paced world of business and online opportunities, it is easy to get lost in the noise.

Competition, diverging avenues of income, the bombardment of non-stop advertising and rapidly evolving business landscape; are all factors that can make one feel overwhelmed as a freelancer looking to enter the realm of  E-commerce services.

The Challenge

The online paradigm is not the same today as it said 10 years ago. Companies are increasingly going global with a large chunk of their operations, depending on online transactions.

The Dilemma

Unfortunately, many people have had bad experiences with independent  E-commerce Consultants on websites like saying Freelancer.com, Upwork.com, and even Fiverr.com as some of these independent freelancers lack the professional work ethic and industry-relevant skills that ensures quality work.

They are not regulated, as compared to a consultant working under a recognized agency would. An agency ensures that all its consultants are thoroughly trained, educated, professional, and skilled in every area of necessity.

Such mitigating factors are what set apart an E-commerce Consultant operating as a mere scam from qualified consultant working under a specialist agency of e-commerce consultant.

Here are a few of our personal tips on how to embrace a rewarding and truly lucrative career as a progressive and well-equipped E-commerce Consultant – both as an independent freelancer and as an agency employee – the right way!

Read up articles, blogs, watch videos and online podcasts, go to your local library and look up books on the subject of E-commerce Consultant Services; join online discussion forums and partake in various communities.

Prospect the Right Customers

Not prospecting the right customers (those who will pay for your services) is like walking shooting darts in a dark room! Knowing what prospective clients will be ‘ideal’ for your services, expertise, and niche of interest; is as essential as the real work you’ll do for them as an E-commerce Consultant.

Not all clients are ‘created equal’; hence, it’s crucial to do your research in understanding, scouting, scoping, and evaluating the ideal avatar or customer demographic for what you have to offer.

A great way is to study companies, entrepreneurs, and small businesses on LinkedIn, various business forums on Facebook and other social media, prospecting at trade shows, seminars, and conferences, etc.

Understanding Competition

You can’t be a great consultant if you don’t understand your client’s competition.

The highest most successful companies in the world like Coca Cola, Walmart, Apple, and Caterpillar – all spend millions every year in merely research and development. And that includes evaluating + continually evolving with their competitors in the market.

Knowing your strengths and weakness and identifying that of your competitions is a great asset and the strongest of weaponry you can possess as a professional and highly dynamic E-commerce Consultant.

Read up books, articles, online journals, and, most importantly; the official websites of each competitor to get an in-depth understanding of it all. Locations, business models, industry trends, and patterns, these are all important parameters to evaluate when it comes to knowing your competition.

Staying ahead of the competition gives you and your clients the edge that no amount of money can buy!

Freelancers VS Company – Where to Start?

There’s no concrete answer to this, as it depends on your comfort level and preference. However, ideally, the best way to start is via a company.

Being associated with a recognized and professional e-commerce agency allows you to polish your skills; gain the necessary organizational, problem-solving, analytical, communications, technological, and strategic knowledge to prosper as a consultant in a controlled, regulated, and highly dynamic professional environment.
A company will invest in your training and self-development and treat you like an irreplaceable asset because of it. Knowledge is power, and working + learning, while you go, is excellent leverage to have as someone just starting.

Growing as an E-commerce Consultant

A great way to grow is through constant marketing your services via social media and various online + offline channels. Classified sections on newspapers, magazines, websites, local community bulletin boards, paid Facebook advertising, reaching out to prospective clients and professionals on LinkedIn, and so forth.

Networking plays a crucial role in growth as an E-commerce Consultant in the competitive and cut-throat online arena today. As the saying goes, “It’s not what you know; it’s who you know.”

Self-investing in yourself through reading books, learning on new industry trends; adapting to the latest consultant challenges, and refining yourself as a professional are all elements of pristine professionalism that will make you stand out from the rest and attract clients in hiring you.

Most e-commerce specialists agencies are clueless about this part, and naturally, the consultants have also lacked this insight. Interpersonal communication is a crucial element for e-commerce specialists. Let’s face it, email exchanges and web conferences don’t help to build the kind of strong interpersonal relationship a consultant should have with his or her client.
To truly develop a rapport with a client; a consultant must consider the things that they can do to make the client’s project easier. It’s important for the eCommerce consultant to always have the client updated with what’s being done and why it’s being done!
Good E-commerce services will empower and train its consultants to learn the clientele’s business. So that a valid contribution can be made to the overall functioning of the business without hiccups.

3: Dedicated Professional Work Space

It’s concerning how most self-proclaimed professional e-commerce consulting services lack a dedicated professional workspace.

As a business owner scouring the internet, looking to hire a consultant, it can be confusing and truly overwhelming to set apart a good e-commerce consulting agency from a make-belief one. We understand that!

Hence, one of the major problems that digital assistants face is their non-work lives interfering with their work. The best way to deal with a situation like this is to have a dedicated work area such as a home office. Having all your equipment in one dedicated place that is sequestered away from the rest of the house; does wonder for a consultant’s productivity and is far more conducive to the type of work a dedicated e-commerce consultant does.

This is why a reliable E-commerce consulting agency will harbor a physical office; well-equipped with all the latest technological and organizational office facilities.

Since the e-commerce specialist industry is a 24/7 world; it is important to look for an agency that stays true to this mandate by being open 24 hours a day – regardless of geographic time zone – from Monday to Friday.

4: The Power of Referrals

Your business grows based on referrals. When you’re looking for professional E-commerce consulting services; it is imperative to look for one that is proactive when it comes to understanding the value of referrals.
For e-commerce consultants worth their salt, it is critical to treat each task as an opportunity for drumming up referrals. The best way is to approach a client as soon as a task has been completed for feedback.
A good E-commerce consulting Agency will make this habit a fundamental practice for any consultant it provides you. This helps you by leveraging your business and its clients to boost your value proposition in an effective manner.

5: Specialization = Competitive Edge

The rapidly evolving e-commerce services market is becoming quite competitive both domestically and globally. Specializing in a particular field is an important quality a good e-commerce consultant must possess.
A good E-commerce consulting Agency will understand this and enable its specialists to develop skills; that can lead to becoming experts in a particular field such as Search Engine Optimization or Social Media.

Going the extra mile to become an expert in a field makes an e-commerce consultant far more suited for some positions and increases a consultants value for being hired.

For example, if your business is in the area of E-commerce; it is important to look for an E-commerce consulting Agency that is well-known in eCommerce and Online Merchant Selling as a specialized niche of operations.
Whether you’re a Seller on Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy or any other platform, a good E-commerce consulting Agency practices in specializations that are applicable to you.

6. Constant Training and Refinement

Knowledge is power! That’s why; a proactive and truly professional E-commerce consulting Agency will live the highest version of its value proposition on a global scale through constant training and refinement of its consultants!
When looking for an e-commerce consultant suitable for your business; it is crucial that you evaluate the  E-commerce consulting Agency practices for measuring its consultant’s performances all year round based on various KPI facets; including but not limited to client review and self-development, etc. Is the agency consistent in ensuring this?

It’s common to see people complain about other agencies or freelancing networks; that their consultant is not responsive to or they don’t know what they are working on.

How to Make $1000 Per Month on eBay (Updated 2019)

You must be questioning how to make money on eBay? How to get sales at eBay? How to hit the benchmark of making $1000 on eBay during your month? Then, guys, you have landed in the right place; today we will guide you about how to earn more than $1000/month. We take guides from several eBay experts and here we are going to share their thoughts with you guys.

It is mostly heard that you have to do too much work on eBay and in return, you get a little. Is that true? We asked the same question from one of the officials of eBay University working on a higher position, who also give lectures on how to make money on eBay as your business platform. He started telling us that on eBay your income is not fixed, it’s up to you how much you want to earn from eBay. Don’t put all the money to your pocket; earn more by investing it again and adding more products to your listings.

This little conversation really made up our mind to take a dive into eBay study and just look at how much effort is required and how much can be gained. For this we take expertise from an eBay executive, who told us that for getting more customers to your listing you must follow these steps:

  • Use high-quality images of your products
  • Write down a complete detailed description of your product and keep your potential buyers in mind
  • Make your research
  • Schedule your listing and avoid reserve prices
  • Select your product carefully
  1. Use high-quality images of your products

For using images on eBay you have to take care of both the quantity and the quality. For quality, you have to make use of really high-quality images that are not blurry or too old and images should be perfect showing your items nicely in a good atmosphere. For quantity don’t just put too much of your product images. You must be using a good number of pictures showing your product from different angles. As we all know that eBay charges for photos, so you can make use of an outside app like Flickr or Garage Sale and link that with your eBay listing.

  1. Write down a complete detailed description of your product and keep your potential buyers in mind

While posting your product, eBay provides you with several fields. You should fill all the fields and make sure you are providing the right information about your product. Unfortunately, most of the sellers don’t give much importance to that, but we would say that it is total stupidity that you are not making use of all the provided fields. Think like you are a buyer and you see a book having a price of $200, would you buy it – definitely no. You would want to know about every reason why this book is so expensive and if your money will be worth spending.

The next thing for your description is the use of the right keyword. Most sellers think it a difficult thing but don’t be troubled; you can do it perfectly even if you are not a tech wizard. It’s like asking yourself, how any potential buyer will search for your item in the search box.

Try to be more close to that search in your description to be more visible in the search for that query. Like if it’s a brand name, and then most likely people will search for the brand name, but it doesn’t mean you don’t have to add any other keyword to it; instead brand must be included in the description.

  1. Make your research

Is your item is being searched by people? Take out some time to Google your item to know about its search traffic and market of your product by searching on eBay and other virtual commerce sites. This will help you to sell your product more efficiently, as you will come to know if there is any market value of your product or not, you will come to know about the exact price as well as you will come to know about the right keywords to add to your listing.

  1. Schedule your listing and avoid reserve prices

It’s quite good to schedule your listing, the best is to use 10 days listing starting on Thursday, which will provide you two full weekends to be listed in the search, as weekends have the highest traffic as compared to weekdays.

Another thing to keep in mind is not to use reserve pricing. You should set the answer about how to make money on eBay as you can by reducing the amount of upfront money that you have to pay. You can do so by starting your price to as low as $0.99, which will keep you into the competition. This will give you a little for the time being but this little will add up to make a lot.

  1. Select your product carefully

We asked the most successful person on eBay who made $50k in one year what kind of products we should sell on eBay. He said “Find a niche market and go deep into it – the best is to look into your hobby, sell supplies for your hobbies and make sure that everything is sold off your supplies. Irregular or second-hand things can also be lucrative for you.

After getting all these tips we think of selling one of our products on eBay. Here’s how we sell it in just a few hours.

  • First of all, we signed up for eBay
  • Look for the product we want to sell
  • Searched that product on Google and e-commerce sites
  • Set the price
  • Started marketing our product on eBay listing
  • Listed our first item on eBay
  • Completed our first sale

This whole process almost takes an hour and we got our first sale. Let’s take a look at the whole process in detail:

Step 1: Sign up for an eBay account

It’s quite straight forward. If you are reading this blog and have an email account, then I don’t think so that I have to explain it further.

Step 2: Look something to sell

Nearly everyone around us has something to sell on eBay. Like one of our friends sold a broken laptop last month, which was bought by a man who knows how to fix it and most probably he will sell it again on eBay after repairing.  From this, you can have an idea that eBay is a vast platform where you can sell almost everything.

So, it is not an issue to select a product, you can go for anything lying in the cupboard. As we decide to go for a spare pair of shoes.

Step 3: Research the product and the price

We can’t make a mistake of setting a random price for our product, or not knowing what are the actual hot keywords, which can best describe our shoes. We searched on Google and other commerce sites by the brand name of our shoes; from this, we got an idea about the shoe price as well as a comprehensive detail of our product description to give it a more professional look.

In case you can’t find the price of your broken item, you can simply set a price of $0.99, as you will get something instead of making nothing from it.

Step 4: Market your eBay listing

As we were already done with the research this is not a much time-consuming step. We took some photos added a concise title including brand name to it and copied the description from other sites for the same item.

Note: It is quite necessary to add product color to your description.

We took the above tip and listed our product on Thursday, for an auction period of 10 days to get the benefit of two weekends listing.

Step 5: List your first item on eBay!

Listing your first item on eBay is quite easy. The best thing is to add free shipping for your product that we did as well for our shoes, which attracts lots of customers. We added shipping costs in the price of the shoes.

Step 6: Fulfill your eBay sale

It’s quite important for everyone to get good seller ratings even if you are not a regular seller. When you fulfill all the requirements you will be a reliable seller and shipper, by delivering your product as soon as possible.

That’s all we are done with a sale in just done a little effort and getting the return in a couple of hours. You need to fulfill all the selling requirements to maximize your profit.

One more thing that we learned during all our working is that you have to think locally, you just not have to sell your extra things; you have to start it as a business and have to think locally.

I hope so you will find this informative and now you have your answer about how to make money on eBay by even selling small things.
